Mr. Mario Millan

Richgrove Parents, Students and Community,
As we begin to look at the 2013 year we at Richgrove School
believe that we are entering into an entire new genre of education. With the Common Core Standards making its way
into our classrooms, over the next few years, we hope to better prepare our
youth for a future that is interwoven with technology.
The future of our young students will be so dissimilar to
ours that we will have to make a valiant effort to ready our staff to prepare
our students for the world they will reside in. This will be a significant
challenge, as we ourselves were not prepared for this technological
future. The Common Core Standards will
play a huge role in how we attempt to provide an education to our students. They are predicated on student driven
discovery, collaboration and original thought under the guise of
technology. This technology will aide
our students to research and discover at a moment’s notice. Our staff is currently in the midst of preparing
themselves to better serve the future of education by attending trainings that
will help us to unlock the doors for students to walk into a world of pure
imagination and amazing tools. Students
in our classrooms, that already have much technology, will begin to see the
transformation of our delivery.
This year we are beginning to outfit our classroom with more
adaptability to technology, and have begun to roll out computers to our
students to begin the move to the future of education. Over the next few years, we will be able to say that all of our
students will have instant access to technology in order to assist them with
acquiring information, and manipulating it to develop original thought, and to
unlock their imaginations.
Richgrove School District, and its Trustees, have committed
to providing the best for our student population. Our hope is that the community, parents and
students embrace this educational shift and take advantage of what is being
offered to them. Richgrove has some of the best staff and students in the
Valley, and we hope that they unleash the educational “beast” within
themselves. We also hope that they
continue to make our community proud, as so many of our Alumni have over the
last few decades.
If you are a Richgrove Alumni, or a long standing member of
the community, please take some time to visit our campus. We are doing great
things here and hope that our constant battle to “be better every day,” can be
seen permeating through our classroom walls.
We welcome all to witness the good that our staff is doing, along with that of our amazing students. The educational shift that is taking our
country over is a difficult one, but our students and staff welcome the
challenge. We hope that you will take
this ride with us.
Our doors are always open and we hope to see you all
supporting us as we grow!
Mario Millan
